Episode 57: Appendix H is for HORROR

This week our episode is on the Appendix H… H for horror films! Horror films have been inspiring fantasy roleplaying from its inception. It is widely believed that the Cleric class’s main inspiration was Peter Cushing as Dr. Van Helsing in the 1950s and 60s Hammer Horror films, and that the Magic Missile spell came from the 1963 movie “The Raven” with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Boris Karloff. Today we will focus on content creation and share ideas we have from some of our favorite horror films for how you can spice up your game!  Judge Michael Bolam joins us for another Horror classic!

  1. Another answer to the question about Spellburn and Patron Bond is in the Patron Bond casting time. “Casting time: 1 week + quests as ordered.” The patron may require one or more quests to complete the bond, and those may well be required immediately.

    • Julian Bernick says:

      Great point, Mr. Bishop!!

      • The important thing here is that “+ quests” is part of the casting time. IOW, no certainty of being able to Spellburn down, complete the spell, and then rest. The quest (or questS) must be completed before the spell is done.
