Episode 27: Perils of Harley Stroh

This episode we welcome DCC RPG writer and game designer Harley Stroh back to the show, and ask him all about his latest adventure, “Peril on the Purple Planet.” Harley tells us what’s new under a weirdling sun with Goodman Games’ latest all-star box set kickstarter, as well as sharing the goods with us on lots of forthcoming Gen Con DCC RPG events, including the notorious Doug Con, “Castaways of Catastrophe Island,” and “The Seven Pits of Sezrekan!”

  1. Daniel J. Bishop says:

Excellent episode. Its fantastic to hear the enthusiasm dripping from Harley Stroh’s every word! You guys are absolutely right about the feel of the community, and how amazing all of the zines are…..but I disagree with Harley about whether or not anyone will know what DCC is in 20 years. I will still be playing it, and will own the then-new 53rd print run!

    • I’m with you there, Brother Bishop. Being the first [and so far only] game I’ve run, DCC will be with me far into my days of dementia. I’ll be drooling into my sentient Jell-o and telling the nurse about taking my manticore into the shop for its crappy turn radius.

  2. Non Backer :( says:

I hope it will be available in the EU stores, because shipping costs from the USA kills 🙁

  3. Fred Dailey says:

Excellent episode! Harley has me even more pumped about the Purple Planet than I was before. Can’t wait to try my luck in the GENCON DCC Funnel. #burythecoffin

  4. DCC is truly an embarrassment of riches. Awesome kickstarters, a fantastic podcast, kick-ass 3rd party publishers and an open and vibrant community. I think we might have stumbled upon rpg Valhalla. Hark! I hear the call of winged Valkyrie, and lo they bear the form of the dark master himself. I fear to go before him, for he will ask me, “What is the riddle of Appendix N?” If I don’t know it, he will cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me. That’s Goodman, strong on his mountain.

  5. Big Troy says:

That show was so good, it looks like I am going to have to up my pledge for the Kickstarter.
